Vyne Trellis Release Notes (April)

April 1 Release Notes

1. Update LBI Tooltip on Registration Page

Release description: Dental provider offices without a website are now instructed to please provide a publicly accessible practice website or business profile web URL (such as Google, Yelp, Facebook, or X). The page must not require a login and should clearly display your practice name.

2. JETT PMS Detection & Selection

Release description: JETT users can now confirm and update their Practice Management System (PMS) both during and after installation.

Benefit to you: This update gives practices greater flexibility and control over their setup experience, especially for those with multiple PMS options and makes it easier to manage or update their configuration with JETT when needed.

3. JETT File Uploader

Release description: JETT enables secure, real-time document access directly from any PMS. Jett transforms the simple act of printing into a structured data exchange. It brings the discipline and reliability of EDI to print, connecting practice management systems directly to Vyne Trellis for real-time document routing.

Benefit to you: Streamlines claim and statement submissions by eliminating printer switching and removing the need to export and organize files for use as claim attachments or within Secure Email in Vyne Trellis.

April 7 and April 15 Release Notes

1. Claim Validation: New Rules

Release description: Expanded pre-submission validation rules have been added to enhance existing validation coverage.

  • New validation codes (e.g., G01–G03, PA1–PA9, TLW, ES2, CCZ, CLU, CSO) identify additional payer-specific and data integrity issues
  • Errors are flagged prior to submission with “Failed Validation” status in the Unsent Claims tab
  • Tooltips direct users to the exact field and tab requiring correction
  • Validations now include deeper
Benefit to you: Improves first-pass acceptance rates by reducing rework and resubmissions, while providing clearer, more actionable error feedback to users.

2. Patient Preferred Name in Communications

Release description: Patient-facing communications now use the patient’s preferred name when available from Eaglesoft, ensuring messages reflect how the patient expects to be addressed.

Benefit to you: Uses the name patients recognize, which reduces confusion, improves trust and response rates, and reduces unnecessary patient callbacks and staff follow up to clarify authenticity.

3. Patient Lookup During Scheduling

Release description: Patients are no longer asked if they are new or returning, rather we do a lookup based on patient name and DOB to see if an existing record is already in the PMS. If no record is found then they are treated as a new patient.

Benefit to you: This removes an extra step in the patient workflow when scheduling an appointment as well as ensuring we are not duplicating patient accounts and showing the wrong appointment types if the patient mistakenly chooses the wrong option.

April 29 Release Notes

1. Payment Email Includes Payment Source & Virtual Insurance Credit Card Transactions

Release description:

  • Added Transactions by Source section showing payment count and total dollars
  • Included all payment types, including virtual insurance credit card transactions
  • Updated Top Transactions to display first name and last initial only
Benefit to you: Provides clear visibility into payment sources across the practice revenue cycle, allowing billing specialists to have clearer visibility into processed transactions. The enhancement also reduces risk of unnecessary PHI exposure by limiting patient names to first name and last initial only.

2. Eaglesoft Balance Updates Payments (Bug)

Release description: The bug has been fixed. Eaglesoft balance updates now sync to Trellis, balances on the Outstanding Accounts tab now update correctly, and paid balances now stop payment reminder texts, emails, and mailed statements from being sent.

3. Refined Filter Experience

Release description: The filter list has been reorganized into clearly defined sections (Claim Readiness, Account Exclusions, Balance Criteria) that group related filters together. This structured layout aligns with how offices think about payment eligibility and makes filter configuration more intuitive and easier to review.

Benefit to you: Reduces time spent configuring and validating filters, improves accuracy of payment targeting by making filter logic easier to understand, and lowers risk of sending payment requests to incorrect accounts. This results in less rework and fewer corrections, while helping staff move faster and more confidently when preparing payment outreach.

4. Appointment Confirmation Text After Patient Confirms

Release description: When a patient confirms an appointment by SMS and the appointment status successfully updates to Confirmed, the system now sends a confirmation text automatically. The confirmation text also directs the patient to answer if there have been changes to their insurance and update their patient information using the link from the text.

Benefit to you: This gives patients clear confirmation that their response was received and their appointment is confirmed, reducing confusion and unnecessary calls to the office. It also helps practices capture insurance or patient information updates before the visit, reducing missed prep work, manual follow up, and rework for front office staff. For family appointments, it provides clear confirmation across linked records, helping offices avoid preventable scheduling confusion and missed pre visit updates.

4. Printable Reports for Eligibility & Benefits

Release description: Users can now generate a printable report directly from the Eligibility page using a new print icon. The report reflects the current filters and columns displayed on the page and can be generated for each eligibility tab, allowing users to easily capture and review relevant records in a structured format.

Benefit to you: Vyne Trellis users can more efficiently review and manage eligibility results such as “Needs Attention” items with a clean, print-ready report. This reduces manual effort, improves visibility across records, and supports offline and paper-based workflows when needed.

5. Updated Scheduling Settings

Release description: Settings have been renamed to “Appointment Settings” and now features a lookahead window where offices can choose how far in advance patients are able to book an appointment.

Benefit to you: Offices often have uncertainty with how their availability will look long-term and want to restrict patients from scheduling too far out in advance. Additionally many patients forget they have an appointment when they scheduled it too long ago, leading to reschedules. Offices can now set a limit for how early a patient can schedule an appointment, ensuring that all appointments are timely and don’t require reorganization of the practice schedule.

April 7 Release Notes

Second Opinion

Multi-organization Access for Admins

Managing multiple locations or entities just got easier. Admins can now access all of their Pearl organizations using a single email and account — no more juggling separate logins for each location.

  • Assigning a user to multiple organizations can now be done in a single step directly from the user management settings.
  • The organization switcher across Second Opinion now automatically shows only the organizations tied to your account, making it faster to navigate and reducing the risk of making changes in the wrong location.
Dismiss Caries Detections
You can now dismiss individual caries detections directly from the hover overlay. The eye icon has been replaced with a trash icon, clicking it removes the detection from view and it won't reappear unless the image is reprocessed or manually added back. This gives clinicians a quick way to remove false positives without affecting the rest of the analysis.

Image Enhance - Icon Toggle Behavior
The AI Stars icon in the Image Enhance tool now follows a consistent toggle behavior. Clicking the icon (not the slider) will switch enhancement on or off based on your current setting:
  • If enhancement is on, clicking the icon turns it off completely (value set to 0).
  • If enhancement is off, clicking the icon restores it to your office's default enhancement level.
Note that the icon toggle always resets to the office default when turning enhancement back on as it does not remember any value you may have previously set manually with the slider. For example, if you slide the enhancement to a custom value and then toggle it off and back on using the icon, it will return to the office default rather than your custom value.

Second Opinion

Visit Snapshot: Walk-in Prepared
This is a visit snapshot that auto-generates a structured pre-visit summary using data already available in Second Opinion and the practice management system. The panel surfaces automatically in FMX, Sugar Bugs, Comparison, Tablet, and Photos modes.
  • Patient Snapshot: Name, age, last imaging visit, and image count by modality (X-rays, photos). Pediatric age displays in years and months (e.g. "6 years, 6 months") for clinical clarity.
  • Reason for Visit: Human-readable label pulled from the PMS appointment code, matched to the most recent study date. Hidden if no reason is recorded.
  • Reason for Previous Visit: Shown for returning patients when a prior appointment reason exists in PMS. Hidden entirely otherwise.
  • AI Findings: Pathologies and restorations from the most recent images, ordered by caries, bone loss, others, then restorations. Discarded detections are excluded, and deduplication is applied at the tooth level across images in the same study. Pediatric patients under 13 with panoramic imaging do not receive AI findings; all other context is still shown. Will not be able to distinguish between what is already in the PMS, will show all opportunities detected.
  • Insurance Summary: Benefit status sourced from PMS and Precheck. Only displayed to practices with Precheck access. Reflects the most recent verification run.
  • Fully localized across all supported languages.

Patient Report
Optional Intraoral Photos
  • Providers can now include an intraoral photo on each condition page when generating a Patient Report PDF
  • Photo selection is per-condition, and the image renders above the X-ray grid in the output
  • If a photo link fails during generation, the report still completes; that condition page appears without the photo

QR Code Sharing
  • Providers can generate a shareable link from the Treatment Report tab, displayed as a QR code the patient scans on their phone
  • Patient verifies identity by entering their date of birth
  • Links expire after 3 days
  • Currently behind a feature flag; will be enabled alongside interactive report functionality in a future release

Bug Fixes
  • PHI toggle crash resolved: Toggling PHI off no longer causes an error when the patient name is unavailable
  • Filmstrip delete checkbox visibility improved: Checkbox styling in filmstrip mode now matches FMX view, making it clearly visible across all image types
Practice Intelligence

Today's Patients Filter
A new 'Today's Patients' filter is now available in Practice Intelligence, showing unplanned and unscheduled treatment opportunities for today's appointment schedule. This filter is now the default view when opening the patient list.
  • Displays unplanned and unscheduled opportunities for today's patients only
  • Set as the new default view — calendar defaults to 'Today' in the date picker
  • Appears before 'This Week's Patients' in the filter list for quicker access

Configurable Daily Huddle Download
Users can now customize the content of their Daily Huddle PDF before downloading. A new configuration modal allows providers to tailor the huddle to their workflow, with preferences saved for future sessions.
  • Download with full patient names or initials only, based on practice PHI settings
  • Filter the PDF by specific providers or operatories
  • Toggle options include: insurance information, action items, unscheduled treatments, and predicted treatments
  • Saved preferences persist across future huddle downloads

Endo Retreat Opportunities - Now Separate From Endo
Practice Intelligence now distinguishes Endo Retreat opportunities from standard Endo opportunities. Retreat opportunities are specifically identified when a patient has an existing root canal that may need re-treatment, and are tracked and displayed independently throughout the platform.
  • Endo Retreat opportunities are identified separately from standard Endo — tied specifically to teeth with existing root canals
  • Retreat opportunities carry their own separate pricing
  • Displayed independently in patient details, schedule view, and daily huddle
  • Available as a dedicated filter option for targeted opportunity review
  • Endo opportunity now also use BWX and PA images

Bug Fixes
Resolved a crash that occurred in the Treatment Opportunities patient list view when the list was grouped by patient. The view now loads reliably in all grouping configurations.

April 30 Release Notes

Second Opinion

Expanded Custom Overlay Color Palette
More color choices are now at your fingertips. Toggle "Show more colour options" to reveal an additional set of carefully curated swatches, organized by hue so you can quickly find the shade you want. Colors already in use by another pathology are clearly indicated, so you'll always know what's available.

Visit Snapshot: Smarter Detection Tracking
The Visit Snapshot now does a better job of identifying what's new since the patient's last visit. When a detection appears on a tooth surface that wasn't present in the prior study, it'll be flagged as "suspected new," giving you clearer insight into what has changed. This applies to caries, calculus, and bone level measurements detections, and progression of caries (from incipient to progressed) is tracked separately so you have a more accurate clinical picture.
  • Insurance Information Toggle (US) – Prefer to keep insurance details out of view during the clinical encounter? You can now show or hide the insurance section of the patient panel with a single click, right from the panel itself. Available only in the US.

Bug Fixes
  • Pressing Esc now exits full screen mode in the image viewer
  • Measurements no longer display "NaN" for unsupported image types; the measurement tool is now disabled when pixel spacing data isn't available.

‘As Low As’ Messaging for Affirm in Payment Portal

When patients review a larger bill (For example: $1,000), they immediately see a monthly payment alongside the total amount due, making the financing option easier to understand without additional staff explanation.

Benefit to you: Reduces friction in the billing process by presenting affordability upfront. Encourages faster payment decisions on larger balances, shortens aging timelines, and helps reduce write-offs tied to unpaid accounts. Decreases cost to collect by reducing manual follow up and billing-related calls, while supporting more consistent and complete revenue cycle management for dental offices.

Vyne Trellis Release Notes - February

 Live date: 2/5/2026

1. PDF Attachment Support

  • Insurance billers can now upload or drag‑and‑drop PDF files directly into Vyne Trellis when adding attachments to supported carriers. Vyne Trellis automatically converts the PDF into a supported image format and sends it to Tesia or NEA, no manual file conversion needed.
  • Benefit: Submitting supporting documentation to claims is more seamless and reliable.
2. Correction Requests - Opt Out Language Addition (Required by Twilio)
  • All Correction Requests sent from eligibility now automatically include the required opt‑out message (“STOP=EndTexts”). Because of the added text, the Custom Message field now allows up to 250 characters instead of 275, and the character counter has been updated to match.
  • Benefit: Helps make sure text messages are delivered to patients without issues. This reduces failed messages, avoids delays in completing forms, and keeps communication reliable for your practice.
3. Update Service Dates on Multiple Procedures
  • Service date updates are now correctly applied and persisted across all procedures on a claim. When users edit the service date for multiple procedures and save or send the claim, each procedure retains the updated date as expected.
  • Benefit: Prevents inaccurate service dates on submitted claims while improving claim accuracy and helps practices get paid faster with fewer downstream issues.
4. Website Address now accepts dashes and special characters
  • The Website Address field now accepts all valid and supported special characters, including dashes (-), along with other allowed characters such as ., _, and ~.
  • Benefit: Practices can successfully save website URLs that follow standard URL formatting without encountering validation errors.
5. MyPractice Unification
  • All users now access a single unified MyPractice experience within Vyne Trellis. Regardless of entry point or product context, practice profile setup and management occur in one consistent location, with Vyne Trellis as the system of record.
  • Benefit: Delivers a smoother onboarding experience with fewer setup mistakes, helping users get up and running faster. Builds confidence by making configuration simple and easy to understand. Reduces support needs by preventing missteps, and creates a strong foundation for future connected workflows across products.

Live date: 2/19/2026

1. Improvements to Secure Email Delivery Attachments

  • Secure Email attachments now appear above the email content, making it clear when documents like X‑rays are included. The attachment view is streamlined across workflows, showing up to three files with any additional documents grouped under a single “Download All” option.
  • Benefit: Reduces missed attachments and cuts down on follow‑up calls from payers and other offices by making documents easy to see and download the first time. This lowers communication costs, reduces rework, and speeds up revenue‑related workflows tied to secure email.

2. More Trusted and Recognizable Secure Emails

  • Secure email notifications now include explicit practice identification, clear reason for the message, and recognizable subject lines that immediately establish trust before opening. Patient response notifications now provide instant recognition of who replied.
  • Benefit: Improves email open rates, reduces delays from overlooked messages, and cuts unnecessary follow‑up. This keeps billing, clinical, and administrative workflows moving without interruptions and lowers overall communication costs.

3. Filter for Medicaid Balances

  • Medicaid balances are now automatically filtered out of the Payments ‘Outstanding Accounts’ tab. The filter is enabled by default so offices do not need to manually review or manage these balances.
  • Benefit: Reduces friction in the billing process, lowers the risk of Medicaid compliance issues, and helps prevent incorrect payment requests to Medicaid patients. This minimizes patient confusion and cuts inbound support calls, improving overall customer satisfaction.

4. Clearer Website Bill Pay Verification Messaging

  • Verification messaging now provides clear, specific guidance that explains who the guarantor is, and whose information should be entered.
  • Benefit: Reduces payment friction, increases successful bill‑pay completion, and cuts support calls related to verification issues. Patients can verify and pay correctly the first time, helping practices collect balances faster with less staff effort.

5. Updated Marketing and Affirm Opt In Messaging

  • Affirm messaging now clearly indicates the option is optional, removing ambiguity during setup and allowing practices to confidently proceed without assuming a required commitment. The legal disclaimer on the marketing landing page has also been updated with the optional language.
  • Benefit: Reduces enrollment friction, increases successful payment‑setup completion, and helps practices get started with Vyne Payments faster and with greater confidence, supporting quicker activation and improved cash flow.

6. Updated Date Picker Design (Campaigns)

  • The date pickers are updated to the current design system and will match the rest of Vyne Trellis.
  • Benefit: Consistency in design and styling help users feel that our different features make up a single product with a single focus of accelerating their revenue cycle.

7. Treatment Plan Extended Status Options

  • This enhancement adds a configurable multi-select status filter that allows users to select additional treatment plan statuses when creating campaigns. Existing campaigns prior to this feature will be unaffected.
  • Benefit: This allows practices to be more specific with their campaign targeting and can help them follow-up with patients who otherwise could slip through the cracks.
