Windows 10
support in Eaglesoft
As previously
communicated, Windows 10 will be supported in ES 18.
Microsoft
deployment of Windows 10 and how to prevent the upgrade
Microsoft has
started pushing the Windows 10 upgrade to customers and recently changed the
update screen; by clicking the ‘X’ to close the window, you are consenting to
the upgrade and the download and installation of the Operating System will
automatically occur. To prevent this from happening, please press the Click
here to change the upgrade schedule or cancel scheduled upgrade (see screen
below)
Please schedule
this upgrade as far out as you can. Once that date hits, please attempt to push
the upgrade out again in the same way.
If you
accidentally trigger the upgrade to start, you can still revert to the previous
operating system during the Windows 10 Setup. When you get to the license
agreement screen, please decline the license; this should give you the option
to revert.
If you
accidentally upgrade
If you
accidentally upgrade, we recommend you attempt to downgrade again. You IT
support team should be able to assist you with this.
As you know,
Eaglesoft 17 is not compatible with Windows 10, we are aware of issues saving
documents to SmartDocs and printer issues; other sporadic errors are also
likely to occur if you try to run on this unsupported platform.
You can also contact support to
request to be added to the early upgrade list for Eaglesoft 18 which will be
announced very shortly.
